Regular LOXX® screws have a thread diameter of 4.2 mm. This LOXX® 12 mm screw has a thread diameter of 4.8 mm. 

If you want to replace an old fastening system but are concerned that the screw will not fit tight enough, then it makes sense to use this screw with a thicker thread.

The larger thread can eliminate the need for filling compounds, but the screw will still fit firmly.
